Unable to successfully mark all notifications as read

I don't know if this is related to the system update that occurred in the last 24 hours, but I am unable to mark all notifications as read, meaning the activity bell consistently says I have unread activity when I do not. Repeatedly clicking Mark all as read does nothing, as does reading the particular message in question.
