Plan Explanation
Yoon Ha H
Can we get updates and explanations for how you plan to implement a solution when you mark a suggestion as "Planned" or "Under Review"? Many of these are at least one year old, so it's nice to hear updates the team makes to implement them because that looks like the team is indeed planning and working to add the feature

There are a number of feedback requests on the feedback system itself, including mine in https://schoolhouse.world/feedback/p/bug-tracking-improvements where I also ask for more active use of these labels and information from the team on when fixes are expected (if fixes are planned), among other requests. In my post, Evan adds some thoughts on how the team's bandwidth limits their ability to act on the requests as much as they'd like. James has added similar thoughts in Slack. In my experience, the vast majority of feedback requests aren't very high on the priority list unless they pertain to major product breakages (in which case, they become very high on the priority list) or are aligned with features the team has in their roadmap. The team has been up front on that in my interactions with them. I personally have come to completely ignore the labels like Planned and Under Review, which I think are best interpreted as "at some point in the past the team planned this feature, or was considering it" but which doesn't necessarily indicate a product change is forthcoming now or in the future.

Michael G Is the limited bandwidth because of not enough funding? I see that Schoolhouse isn't looking for new employees on their team. Do you think that'll change after the new partnership?

Jasmine G As far as I know, they recently were hiring and (I think) filled the developer positions they were interested in. I don't know the precise situation regarding funding, but sometimes a team elects not to grow further, even if they have sufficient funding, believing they already have the right set (and number) of people for the projects they wish to pursue. I don't know if that's the case here, but I mention it because the issue may be unrelated to funding. I think the issue is that right now the items users may consider really important (that have been communicated via feedback requests) aren't often aligned with what the team (and/or its stakeholders) currently considers most important, so the team decides to invest their resources elsewhere. That's not uncommon. At the moment the situation is definitely that most feedback requests will not be implemented, with only some of them receiving an official comment from the product team, though maybe sometime in the future that may change (I hope it does). I don't know anything about the partnership outside of it being mentioned in past communications that an exciting new partnership would be announced in 2026 (if it has been communicated already, I missed it).
