Policy for learner attendance
Sarthak K
I have had many sessions as a tutor where no learners don't show up, but are registered for a series. It is incredibly frustrating, as I have to wait 15 minutes waiting and around 30 minutes prepping for session (also we don't get volunteer hours for this so nearly an hour of my time wasted.) Also, it feels very demotivating to continue the rest of the series, if no learners show up, because they probably won't show up to the next session either. There is already a policy for tutors (3 sessions missed in 30 days can get your tutoring privileges revoked, I believe). Why isn't there one for learners as well? Of course the policy for learners should be a little bit less strict, but it is really annoying when learners who don't show up are filling up the slots in the series, and in most sessions I tend to have 2-3 learners show up out of 10. I mean if learners truly have some long term reason why they can't attend the rest of the sessions in a series, they could just unenroll, right?

I dont think there should be a policy because sometimes learners have something to do our time is just as important as the tutors we should not be pentalized for that

Hey Sarthak, I know that it can be frustrating for learners to register and not show up. Each tutor can set their own individual attendance policy when creating a series and each tutor is entitled to remove learners who do not follow the attendance policy (learn more here: https://schoolhouse.world/faq/en/articles/9988660-how-do-i-remove-learners-from-a-session-series). This gives tutors the flexibility to set attendance policies that make sense for their series while also being a mechanism to hold learners accountable.
