Physical Reward

Wouldn't it be better if we receive physical rewards like Exam Pads, Notebooks, etc. on studying for particular time?
It motivates us to study and spend more time on this site, it even increases the curiosity of attending a class or session.
Please take a glimpse on this....

I like the marketing aspect of this. I'd love to have Schoolhouse stickers, decals/clings, t-shirts, notebooks - anything to help get the word out. Could there be a Schoolhouse store where we could order items for ourselves? For more cost-effective, larger scale marketing, are there official flyers or posters that we or teachers could download? Should this be its own thread?

I understand, but knowledge is our true reward!

I love this idea! Imagine if we could transfer points from Khan Academy!

Ashmita B: Yeah, hope this will be planned 👀

This feature will motivate a lot of students to learn. However, since schoolhouse.world accepts people from all over the world, it will be quite hard to deliver all these rewards, but if this feature could be in schoolhouse.world, it will be very helpful.
I think we can make this work by setting up one place in different countries to give the physical rewards, but it will be quite hard to do so.

Avner L: I think it is possible if they can partner with some international shipping companies.... 🤷♂️

Avner L: What about Amazon gift cards?
Sai Eswar A
Stanislava S: That would help too...!

Hey! Thanks for mentioning this! Physical rewards sound like a great idea to motivate and say thanks to our community, so it's definitely something we'll look into.
Of course, it's more work than just coding up a new feature (e.g. there are many logistical and economic considerations we'll have to make, as mentioned by Ishita P), so this is something we will research and develop in the long-term. Stay tuned!

Jackie L: How about physical rewards not as gifts but as merch? In other words, a global SHW store where some profits go to the organisation as donations? Or maybe sell SHW merch on Amazon, in all the regional sites? To keep the merch and free rewards appealing, it's important to keep both distinct. Free rewards are unique, and they're not sold. But so is the merch and it's only sold, not rewarded. But there can be similarity between the two: tshirts, notebooks, logo plushie, Live Help blanket, etc. (These are just placeholder examples. I'm sure SHW will come up with better, more feasible merch and rewards.)

I don't think this is very realistic...especially since its a non-profit, delivering stuff all over the world would be hard..
Sai Eswar A
Ishita P: Yo! Hope you're doing fine, it was just a suggestion. I too know that it's a non-profit educational website, and I'm very thankful for it.
Thanks!

Sai Eswar A: nah I was just saying... I hope I didn't sound angry or something 😅
Sai Eswar A
Ishita P: No, you didn't sound angry.... lmao

Sai Eswar A I think that if you tutor for a specific amount of time (maybe like ~100 hours) you should be able to do an AP/ SAT test for free.. (Because college board earns a lot of profit and this is one way they could give back :))
100 hours for like $100 for AP test or like $68 for SAT doesn't seem unreasonable..
